And she really can't imagine being chosen to aid him in an epic quest that will lead them across the globe to find his brothers and complete a grand ceremony that will save mankind.
But fate has taken hold of Lily, and she, along with her sun prince, Amon, must travel to the Valley of the Kings, raise his brothers, and stop an evil, shape-shifting god named Seth from taking over the world.
From New York Times bestselling author Colleen Houck comes an epic adventure about two star-crossed teens who must battle mythical forces and ancient curses on a journey with more twists and turns than the Nile itself.

Review:
Reawakened by Colleen Houck is a wonderfully depicted tale of ancient gods, powerful beings and grand adventure. Drawing readers into a passionate race against time to save the world, Reawakened will thrill those who have a love for all things Ancient Egypt.
Reawakened introduces readers to Lilliana “Lily” Young, a seventeen year old New Yorker whose summer is thrown into chaos when a trip to the Metropolitan Museum sees the proper young woman discover a young man who claims to have be a recently awakened mummy. Quickly realising that that apparently crazy, yet oh, so sexy, man may in fact be telling the truth, Lily begins to realise that there is more to the world than she imagined; not only does magic really exist, but there are dangers lurking, even more dangerous that Lily could ever have expected…..
I honestly can’t remember the last time a book did a complete one-eighty the way Awakened did in my eyes! Seriously. In the beginning of reading this novel, I really struggled. I’d been so looking forward to it, being the Ancient Egypt lover that I am, but within the first couple of chapters I was highly disappointed. Our heroine read like a selfish, spoilt brat who put too much stock in designer clothes and being perfect that her voice came across as almost impossible to follow….yet about halfway through the novel…bam, complete change that suddenly I found it impossible to put Awakened down. It felt like I had read two different novels, and whether this is Houck’s intention or not I don't know.
Though I know she has had a lot of success with her Tiger Saga, this the first novel by Colleen Houck that I have picked up. And I have to say, that after my initial problems with Reawakened, I was very impressed. Houck’s writing is easy to follow and she does a tremendous job of exploring Egyptian mythology, weaving different aspects of the culture, folklore and history together. We get to explore the pyramids, tombs, and architecture of Egypt, learn about different Egyptian myths and stories and learn about different gods throughout Reawakened. It’s clear a lot of thought and effort has gone into creating the background for this series and I have to commend Colleen Houck for this.
As you can tell from the beginning of my review, I had some initial problems with our main character Lily. Lily comes from a well-to-do family and is well put together. She lives in a penthouse in a hotel, only wears the best and eats the best. My problem is that both Colleen Houck, and Lily as the character, seem to shove this down our throat, over and over and over again in the beginning of the book. I understood Lily’s position if life, and what it meant for her—I didn’t need to be constantly reminded. Personally I think this is done so we see the depth of the transformation Lily goes through by the end of the novel, but I still found it too much and too grating. And yet in saying that, but the end of Awakened, I quite liked Lily and found it easy to get behind her. She grew and changed and I liked who she became.
Alongside Lily is a small cast of characters I really came to adore. Amon, the recently reawakened Ancient Egyptian, who alongside his two brothers, must stop the god Seth from raining darkness down on the world is obviously a stand out. Amon really grew on me. Seeing him learn about the 21st century as he slowly began to care about Lily was really enjoyable and I found their relationship/romance really endearing. I loved Amon’s brothers Asten and Ahmose. All three brothers were very different, but the sharp way they interacted with each other and the sibling teasing they shared was adorable. Even Dr Hassan, the grand vizier to the three brothers was someone I couldn’t help but love!
Reawakened races towards a climactic ending with the three brothers facing off against a powerful individual in order to fulfil their destiny. Colleen Houck will leave you breathless and dying for more as Reawakened comes to a close; leaving readers begging for the next book to be released sooner rather than later!
