Review:

Forever Too Far is the emotional, and at times dramatic, conclusion to Abbi Gline's Too Far series and tells the final installment in Blaire and Rush's journey in what is an intense and adorable read!

After taking my time to actually begin this series, it's suffice to say I've enjoyed each and every book---breezing through the entire series in a week. Which, when you work full time, is really something. From the opening chapter in the very first book, this series has been addictive. The simple dynamic of the plotline was lovely to read about and the crazy, intense, lovable and at times maddening characters have made the Too Far series one swift excitement after another. Basically it's been a story and world I've loved getting lost in.

So, in that being said, Forever Too Far is a perfect example of everything good about this series. After the adorable ending of Never Too Far, Blaire and Rush begin this chapter of their story preparing for the arrival of their first child, planning their wedding and looking forward to their future, but in typical Abbi Glines fashion, Glines throws one hurdle after another at this young couple and together Blaire and Rush must face things once and for all; proving the strength and durability of their relationship.

Forever Too Far is sweet, sassy and so much fun. I'll be honest, I've had my issues with Blaire and Rush throughout this series, but with each and every book I've fallen in love with them a little bit more, warming to them just that bit extra. So much so that I was giddy the entire time I was reading this book. After everything Abbi Glines has brilliantly put them through; all the difficulties, all the drama, seeing them become man and wife and then welcome their son into the world was so satisfying to behold.

If you're heading into this book believing pregnancy is going to put a damper on Blaire and Rush's love life, you'd be wrong. Their relationship is as strong, and sexy, as ever with Glines saucy, and at times naughty, writing detailing their sensual and sweet romance.

While Blaire and Rush may have found their happily ever after there are a number of other loveable and beguiling characters Glines has introduced throughout the series that have not. Characters whose own powerful personalities deserve stories and with Woods and Della's tale well underway in their spin-off series, I'm hopeful for Grant and Harlow's tale in the future, as well as a few others I hope Glines gives some love to one day.

A sexy, fun and adorable ending to the Too Far series, Forever Too Far hits the nail on the head with it's engaging and satisfying storyline. The conclusion Abbi Glines delivers is everything that I could have asked for and more, and though I'm sad to see the series come to an end, a better ending there couldn't have been!

Review:

Rules of Survival is a fun and flirty story by Jus Accardo that features an exciting story woven together with danger and mystery and topped off with characters who have a delectable chemistry!

This is my second novel by Jus Accardo (I’ve previously read Touch) and I have to say I enjoyed it immensely. The concept is catchy and I really liked the characters and the chemistry they displayed. Their dynamic is my favourite kind to read about and I thought Accardo did a good job with the story; mixing mystery with excitement and danger. The situations our main characters kept finding themselves in were really entertaining to read unfold.

Rules of Survival follows Mikayla “Kayla” Morgan, an eighteen year old girl who is on the run and wanted for murder but whose life takes an interesting turn when she is caught by an arrogant and cocky, albeit attractive, bounty hunter named Shaun Denver and in order to keep her from escaping, handcuffs them together. As those really responsible for the murder attempt to silence Kayla once and for all from ever attempting to clear her name, Shaun and Kayla must form an uneasy truce as the gunmen hot on their tail close in when Shaun does the one thing Kayla might actually kill him for…..loses the key. 

I will say I really liked Kayla in this book. The entire story is told from her point of view and I found her to be nice to follow. Kayla is quite street wise and the years spent living, and running, from the law with her mother have taught Kayla how to evade and escape, giving Kayla some serious survival skills. This is a girl who knows how to survive and how to plan ahead, using situations to her advantage. And yet it’s been a hard life, and now without her mother Kayla is lonely and ready to go on the straight and narrow; something that makes you feel for Kayla when you think of how hard her life would have been. 

She may be capable, but Kayla certainly meets her match in Shaun. The cocky and arrogantly sexy bad-boy turned bounty hunter is a lot more than he appears and despite their differences the two bond as they attempt to solve the difficult circumstance they find themselves in. As Kayla and Shaun get to know each other, their truce of circumstance soon blossoms into something more; with grudging respect and tolerance soon paving the way for understanding and friendship and soon it becomes harder and harder for them to deny their mounting feelings for one another.

Jus Accardo does a great job keeping the tension between Kayla and Shaun intensely high throughout the entire novel! The attraction is there from the beginning, but as the story slowly unravels, things between Kayla and Shaun only get hotter; with the chemistry and dynamic making for some excellent dialogue and tension filled moments between them. This novel has some NA aspects, where Kayla and Shaun’s physical relationship is concerned, but Accardo, again, does a good job here.

Rules of Survival is fast-paced and mysterious, and just a really good read. You’ll find it hard not to become invested in seeing Kayla and Shaun learn the truth, and find it impossible not to be thrilled with how Jus Accardo writes this entire novel. Definitely worth a read!

Review:

As the sequel and conclusion to Amy Tintera's sensational debut novel Reboot, Rebel is as thrilling and as exciting as it's predecessor, and will catch you from the opening chapter with it's gripping storyline and electrifying romance!

Personally I adored Reboot and I was so thrilled to find I loved Rebel just as much, if not more! Amy Tintera once more writes a novel that is not only superbly written, but whose storyline is as captivating as it's characters! Tintera changes the way we witness the novel by writing Rebel different from her first. Unlike Reboot which was told entirely through Wren's eyes, Rebel now switches back and forth between Wren and Callum's POV's, something that truly heightens the reading experience; allowing us to see though both our most prominent characters eyes.

Picking up almost exactly where the first book ended, Rebel continues to follow Wren and Callum now that they've escaped the HARC facilities with the Austin Reboot's and sees them venturing out to start a new life on the Reboot Reservation. What they discover isn't what they except; with those leading the Reboot Reservation having dark plans for the human and Reboot population.

Rebel truly was a very thrilling novel. Tintera manages to keep it extremely fast paced, while introducing new characters and new dangers. The plotline is different than the first, with Wren, Callum and the other Reboots really trying to find their place in the world and a way they can live that works with minimal disruption to those around them. Both Wren and Callum are forced to face some hard truths in order to protect those they care about and lead.

As our heroine, I was very impressed with Wren in this novel. She's still the strong, powerful and kick-ass heroine that I loved in the first novel, but throughout the course of the two books she's also come a long way and really grown as an individual. Rebel really highlights the changes in Wren, and personally I enjoyed seeing her display more vulnerabilities. Tintera has penned a very strong main character in Wren, but has also built her up over time.

In Rebel, Wren makes different choices than she would have made in Reboot and this sees her become a happier person. That's not to say everything hasn't been hard, because it has. Tintera puts Wren, and really all her characters through a lot, emotionally and physically, but in the end Wren manages to overcome them to find a place of happiness and contentment she's never known.

Rebel sees a lot of development with our main characters, and not just with Wren. Callum has equally been developing. At his base, Callum is a very good, kind person and he's always seen the world in such a light way. As a twenty-two, he's managed to hold onto a lot more of his humanity than other Reboots and because of this he's struggled to see the same as most Reboots do. And yet in Rebel, Tintera forces Callum to really open his eyes and this sees him take on some of the responsibility that Wren has previously shouldered and he has taken for granted.

Personally I loved that Callum never really loses his zest for life in Rebel, but he also grows a great deal. When unforeseen events see Callum taking on a leadership role he wouldn't normally have, Callum actually manages to thrive. Callum opens his eyes to the humans in this book, and although he's still as caring and attentive as he's always been, Callum also comes to accept what he is and his differences like he hasn't before. He's still the light to Wren's darker nature, but he's also strong on his own.

Throughout Rebel the Reboots and humans struggle to work together, something that makes things endlessly difficult for our characters, but in the end I was thrilled with the comfortable place they found together. As the conclusion to a two-part series, Amy Tintera wraps Rebel up very nicely. I felt a sense of closure for the characters at the end and yet Rebel left things very hopeful for the future.

Fast-paced and delicously thrilling, this series blends strong and likable characters with giddy romance and forward moving action. Rebel is an exhilerating but perfect ending to a brilliant series, and although I'm sad to see it end, Amy Tintera couldn't have concluded it an better as far as I'm concerned!

Review:

Take Me on is the fourth installment in Katie McGarry’s tremendously written and deeply satisfying Pushing the Limits series and is without a doubt another killer story by one of the prime contemporary authors of this genre—McGarry will make you smile, laugh and cry.....then beg for more!

I can say in all honesty that Katie McGarry is one of the reasons I enjoy contemporary fiction as I do. Prior to reading her debut novel, Pushing the Limits, the contemporary genre wasn’t something I read a lot of, but thanks to the delicious characters and incredible romantic connections McGarry and those like her write, I’m very much falling in love with these kinds of stories. And Take Me On only helps cement my love of contemporary novels!

Though not the best book in the series in my opinion—Crash Into You holds that reign for me---Take Me on was still an absolutely sensational read! Following West Young, the older brother of Crash Into You protagonist Rachel and introducing us to Hayley Williams, a young fighter dealing with a lot of difficulties, Take Me On is an exhilarating story of love, friendship and finding the strength to fight for what you really want!

Expertly written, Take Me On is told in the dual POV’s of West and Hayley; something that only enhances the reading experience as far as I'm concerned. Varying chapters told by each character allows you as the reader to really see into the hearts and minds of West and Hayley; we learn what makes them tick, and see their struggles--something that truly helps you understand the journey they're on.

West and Hayley were really great characters to follow in this book. I always enjoy meeting a new couple written by Katie McGarry and have to applaud her for always managing to give them originality and yet making them real and relatable. It's impossible not to love her characters; from the feature two in each book to the other minor characters we meet along the way and yet whom I'm really hoping to hear stories about--characters that include Abby, Ethan, Logan, Jax and more.

Having briefly met West in the previous book, I was very excited for the chance to follow him in Take Me On, but found I was pleasantly surprised to see how different he was than what I was expecting when heading into the book. West is a very conflicting character. He's a rich boy and has had nothing but opportunity after opportunity. He's never gone for anything in his life, but he's also never felt like he belonged. Acting out and getting into fights have been a normality's in West's life for a long time, a result of his struggling relationship with his father and his inability to really connect with his family; bar his sister Rachel and brother Ethan.

West harbors a lot of guilt over what happened to his sister at the end of Crash into You and honestly believes it was his fault. This is something he carries around and it's not until he meets Hayley does he begin to let something good into his life. West comes a long way over the course of this book. I won't go into too many details, but some harsh decisions by his father force West to be on his own and he slowly learns what he has to do to survive and be a man. McGarry knocks West and the entire Young family around the ring with some surprising revelations that change everything West thought he knew about himself! Personally, I adored seeing West grow in this book and think McGarry did a great job giving West the tools to grow and allow him to find his feet!

Hayley is a delightful match for West in Take Me On. A fighter by nature, the destruction of her family's life has left Hayley a shadow of who she used to be. Shouldering so much on her own Hayley doesn't really let people in and in so many ways has given up on her hopes and dreams and all that she loves. Hayley really just struggles day by day. And she doesn't even know she's let herself get so low until West walks into her life and makes her feel something real. Hayley is a really great character. She's smart and quick thinking and keeps West on his toes, but she's also gone through a lot. And it shows. Take Me On really highlights Hayley's journey to being in a good place after so much difficulty and I enjoyed seeing Hayley take back some control of her life.

Despite their social differences Hayley and West really become the others strength in Take Me On. Both are in hard places with their own issues, and it's something that bonds them. Raging attraction aside, McGarry gives their relationship a lovely foundation of comradeship that sees them only help strengthen and assist the other. West and Hayley have a great dynamic; they're both attracted to the only and have great chemistry, so seeing the electric part of their relationship blend with the deeper side was beautiful.

Choc-full of exhilarating romance and shocking family revelations, Katie McGarry explores her standardly flawed and struggling, but incredibly beautiful characters amongst stunning romance and addicting chemistry in Take Me On--trust me this is one series that will leave you begging for more with each and every book!
