It's a tie! But I'm choosing....

Inappropriate Romance Reading Spots!



1. Church! This kinda speaks for itself, doesn't it? I mean, it's church. You can't be getting all hot and "happy" like that in church, lol. It's just not right.


2. In The Living Room (when there's someone there). This may not sound so bad at first glance, but when your parents are sitting on the couch next to you and you little brother is talking about what he did a soccer practise it just doesn't work.


3. School. Supposed to be focusing on your maths work, but instead you've got your head in a romance book? Not a good idea. At best you don't get your work done, at worst the teacher catches you and reads what you were reading out loud *gulp*


4. On Public Transport. Again, this may not seem so bad on the surface, but if you've ever gotten so "caught up" in one these kinds of books and missed your stop you'll know what I'm talking about. Plus, it's public transport....you never know who might be watching or reading over your shoulder.


5. Work. Very similar to school, the last thing you want is to be caught by your colleagues, or worse boss, with your head between the pages of a romance novel. Even on your break you risk getting caught, so no....probably not a good idea.

Books/Series That Should Be Movies!



Dark Hunter by Sherrilyn Kenyon: Hello this entire series is about one sexy vampire hunter after another, how can it not be a movie and/or series? Those Dark Hunters are pure sex appeal and I'd love to see them in the flesh.


Strange Angels by Lili St. Crow: Dru Anderson is a girl who can seriously hold her own. Alone in a world with vampire, dhamphirs, werewolves and zombies this is one awesome series. Would love to see it on the big screen.


Black Dagger Brotherhood: This series is gritty and raw and the hero's so tortured. It'd make a killer movie. I'd love to see the brothers come to life.


The Iron Fey by Julie Kagawa: The world in this series is so rich and beautiful it would make an incredible movie. Plus there's Ash so that's like a definite reason to make it into a movie.


The Mediator by Meg Cabot: Suze is a kick ass gal who can see ghosts and who happens to fall in love with one. Sounds like a great movie to me!

Favorite PN races other than Vamps and Weres!

It's been a while since I participated in this, mostly because I've been so run off my feet, but I'm glad to take part in it again. It's so much fun.
Here we go.......


1. Faeries! They're probably my all time fave supernatural creature, even beating vampires and werewolves. I just love them.


2. Angels! The good ole angel. I really enjoy any book that features angels. Especially when they're not so "good".


3. Demons! Alright so most demons in books don't look like this, instead they're usually sexy men aka, Larissa Ione's Demonica boys or Gena Showalter's Lords of the Underworld---but whatever they may be, demons rock!


4. Mermaids! There seem to be a lot of mermaid tales and stories gracing our shelves right now and I really enjoy them. Totally awesome.


5. Zombies! I'm only just getting into zombie books, but who doesn't love a good scary zombie movie or tale. Especially when they're not so bad and can actually be funny.

Favorite Childhood TV Series!



1. Captain Planet--"he's our hero gonna take polution down to zero...nah, nah, nah" I loved this show when I was younger. One of the best there was.


2. The Rugrats----awww, I loved the adventures of Tommy and the gang. It was always so much fun.


3. Power Rangers---they were the bomb when I was a kid. The original was the best ever--totally kicked butt!


4. Sailor Moon---I could watch this show from dusk til dawn---I loved it!


5. Scooby-Doo--Oh, how I love Scooby and the gang. They were so much fun to watch and I couldn't get enough of 'em.



Awwww, all these shows remind me of my childhood and I suddenly have an urge to go watch them. Haha!

Favorite UF Covers!

Honestly, I don't read a lot of books from this genre; I'm only just started too. However these books are all on my to read list and the covers are to just die for!

Here's my top 5:


1. I love everything about this cover.....from the stunning woman on it to the amazing colours used to the intricate golden markings she has on her arms. It's just so incredible beautiful!


2. Man this cover is just awesome! The blue of the background really pops and the cover models pose is eye-catching. Not to mention that ultra cool snake wrapped around her that ties in with the books title perfectly and makes it all the more cooler.


3. The vibrant colours on this cover just draw my attention straight away. Plus the woman and that look in her eyes. It's like she's seeing into my soul---just awesome!


4. There's something about this cover that I really love--have from the moment I saw it. The way the light hits the girl, and that pink/purple colour in the front of her hair really stand out. Not too sure about her facial expression though......


5. The background of this book really stands out for me. It's very simply, but it almost looks like a piece of parchment (not sure if it's just me that see this, but.....) and again, it's the woman on the front. That, ready-to-take-on-the-world, fight-till-the-death pose that models often have on UF covers look for brilliant!


Hmmmm, I've noticed a patten with my picks as I type this. All my covers have pictures of strong women on the cover. You gotta love strong, independent women! Oh, and most of these gals here are red-heads, although i have no idea what's up with that. Guess it's the vibrancy of them!

Favorite Books of 2011 so far!

This is fast becoming a fave segment of mine. It's always so much fun each week!
Here's my top 5 for this week:



1. What can I say? Cassie Clare is a genius and everything she writes is golden. This book was a great start to a whole new chapter in the TMI series and ends with a killer ending. I'm already dying for the next book!


2. I've actually read books similar to this before, but for some reason this one takes the cake. It's splendid and I'm looking forward to reading the rest of the series when they're released. Add this to your to-read list kiddies--you won't regret it!


3. Another fantastic tale and romance in this series. The story is building and the characters just keep getting more incredible. Love it, love it, love it.


4. I was shocked how much I loved this book. I thought it would be good, but I had no idea that I'd love it as I did end up. There was twists and shocks abound and the ending left me wanting to bang my head against a wall. Seriously, the sequel can't get here and faster as far as I'm concerned.


5. J.R. Ward has my heart she does. This series is incredible and I can't get enough of it. I love the brotherhood and everything that makes this series so incredible and addictive.


Ahhh, so many great books and there are still a tonne of incredible releases set for the rest of the year! Until next time....

Bookish Pet Peeves!


***Before I start, I have to make it clear that while these things tend to drive me a little nuts, they in no way stop me from reading the books I love. Sure it can get a bit annoying, but at the end of the day, I love the books I read and wouldn't stop for the world.***

Here are my top five:

1. The Love Triangle


















Ahhh, the dreaded love triangle. It seems like it's impossible not to pick up a book now days (especially YA) and not find a love triangle. It's just everywhere. Yes, at first they were interesting. I can't pretend that I haven't enjoyed one or two, but it's gotten to a point where I'm just over it.

2. Love At First Sight


















Call me old fashioned, but what ever happened to getting to know someone first before you fall in love with them. Sure I believe in lust at first sight, but love? No way! You have to know someone before you can love them and there are way too many characters out there nowadays that fall in love when they're only known each other a tiny amount of time--it just doesn't seam realistic. Characters become obsessed with each other and really, most of the time, I just don't see the reason.

3. The Annoying Heroine


















Have you ever read a book where the storyline is great, the supporting characters are great, but the main character makes you wanna pull your hair out? Well, I have. Girls who make pathetic choice after pathetic choice or fall so "in love" that all that matters to them is a man.

4. Sex When Characters First Meet


















I love PNR, but if there's one thing I can't stand is when characters jump into each others beds when they know nothing about one another. I've read books where sometimes the heroine doesn't even know the hero's name before she's losing herself in him and the passion and the blah, blah, blah.

5. Bitter Sweet Endings


















Yeah, yeah, yeah. I know it may sound cliche and, well, boring of me, but at the end of the day when a book or series ends I want all loose ends tied up and a happy ending. It's impossible not to become invested with most characters I really only want to see them happy. Most of the time I don't mind when a book is left open, and a happy ending is hinted at but when you know a character has gone through so much only to have it all end a certain way it was be very depressing.


So there you have it. My top 5 Book Pet Peeves. I mean, I do have a couple more, but 5 it says, so 5 there shall be.
