Somehow, after tossing and turning all night and getting zero sleep, I’ve managed to not only make it into work, lugging all those ridiculous coffee orders with me, but to actually begin the process of launching the first wave of transitional fall clothing now that the fashion show is over.

I swallow hard. Of course, I have nothing left to focus on except for work now that things with Harrison have gone completely from endless possibilities to zero possibilities.

How is it that a man I met less than a week ago has turned everything in my life upside down? With Harrison I had the best conversations I’ve ever had with a man; the greatest physical attraction I’ve ever felt; and, God help me, the hottest kiss I’ve ever experienced.

And Harrison also gave me the worst feeling in the world when I saw the hurt look on his expressive face before he turned and walked away from me last night.

I begin shoving an ottoman in the women’s section across the floor to make room for the new display I’m going to put up. But none of that matters. Harrison is pissed off and disappointed in me and, lord knows, has a million other girls to choose from. I was nothing more than momentary diversion for him anyway—

“Kylie.”

I turn around and find Laurel standing behind me, holding a Starbucks cup out toward me.

“This was awful. Take it back and make them re-do it.”

I stand up. I take the cup from Laurel and feel that it is nearly empty.

“Laurel,” I say, confused, “you drank most of this. I can’t take it back.”

Laurel narrows her gaze. “Yes, you can. I drank that awful beverage because I would have gotten a horrific caffeine headache waiting for you to go back and get a proper one. So make them re-do it. Now. I have a million things to do today and don’t need to waste time arguing with you about a coffee.”

Then she spins on her Prada heel and storms off.

I take a deep breath. Laurel is beyond ridiculous. I mean, she drank it. I will not have Starbucks remake it. I’ll just buy her another one out of my own pocket rather than humiliate myself at Starbucks. Where I’m already humiliated on a daily basis by having to place four insane orders five days a week.

I go to the back of the store and grab my clutch. I put on my sunglasses and head through the store, to the front door and out into the bright Texas sun. It might only be 10:30 AM, but it’s already steaming hot outside.

I start walking down to the Starbucks when suddenly I stop dead in my tracks. My heart jumps. My chest draws tight. I can’t breathe.

Because Harrison is coming right up the sidewalk.

Twenty-four-year-old Kylie Reed has always been a rule follower. Aven Ellis has been writing fiction since she was sixteen. She studied communications at a large Midwestern university, and after graduation, Aven worked as a reporter for a community newspaper, followed by a stint at a public relations agency.

But writing about city council meetings and restaurant franchises was not as much fun as writing for young women trying to figure out their careers and potential boyfriends. So Aven got herself a job in television that allowed her to write at night. Review:

Waiting For Prince Harry by Aven Ellis is a very fun and flirty novel that entertain from beginning to end and will have you wanting to find your own Prince Harry!

Waiting For Prince Harry was a downright fantastic read read. Flirty, fun and addictive, this book was very much a good rom-com; the kind of novel that would make a fabulous chick flick! Introducing us to Kylie Reed, a twenty-four year old designer, Waiting For Prince Harry follows Kylie’s journey to love when she quite literally falls into the lap of her very own ginger-haired hunk. As someone who secretly crushes on Prince Harry, Kylie is surprised when this mystery man manages to give the Prince a run for his money in the looks, attitude and charm department and soon finds herself realising the right person can bring out the best in her.

Eeeep! When I first heard about the premise for Waiting For Prince Harry I knew I had to read it. As someone who simply adores this particular royal (forget William; I’ve always wanted Harry!) Waiting For Prince Harry sounded right up my alley…..and I have to say Aven Ellis has done a great job with this story! Personally, I sped through this book, and could hardly put it down. Basically I wanted to keep reading and reading until the very end.

Though the writing may be basic, the characters and the chemistry they share in Waiting For Prince Harry shine from the very beginning! Main character Kylie Reed is a very normal young woman with a heart of gold. She’s a bit of a homebody and would prefer sewing and baking and watching movies at home over partying and clubbing any day. Kylie is happy to file all her dreams away "for the future" until she meets oh, so sexy Harrison Flynn, famous hockey player, redhead and dreamboat. Sparks fly and soon the two find themselves diving headfirst into L.O.V.E

Kylie was a great main character; she was likable and nice and so down to earth. It was easy to relate to her and put yourself in her shoes. She was the kind of girl you couldn’t help but like and end up vying for. Harrison on the other hand….what a character! This guy has me all weak in the knees and swoony. Harrison Flynn was an honest to goodness, good guy. He had money, fame and status but the things that mattered to him were the smaller things in life. He was funny and charming and endlessly sexy. As a hot-as-hell ginger and star athlete, Harrison has it all physically, but it’s his attitude and personality that won me over in this book. He really was a perfect all-round gentleman; certainly giving Prince Harry a run for his money as the most alluring redhead out there!

As soon as Kylie and Harrison meet, sparks life. I adore these two together, I really do! They have so much chemistry that every interaction between them is rife in attraction and tension. The dialogue between Kylie and Harrison smart and flirty, and Ellis keeps them witty and sassy together. They build such a strong relationship, and even though things move fast it never seems forced or rushed. They have their ups and downs, but as a couple they manage to better each other and it's so beautiful to witness. They have a magical relationship that is so beautiful and sweet--a girls dream!

Featuring a sexy romance, delectable dialogue and an addictive story, Waiting For Prince Harry is a brilliant contemporary read!

The creation to The Descendant:

The creation of The Descendant comes to the boy next door. Who was genuinely kindhearted and handsome both on the inside and out. And our almost kiss. Truth be told when he was about to kiss me, I shied away and didn’t realize how much I really cared for him-- another words a freaked out!!!! So when I told the story to one of my closet friends the idea hit me. A story that revolves around a first real kiss which turned into quite an adventure.

 As I remember in my younger years I was the geeky tomboy with the poodle perm hair. Who didn’t care for the school age boys-Truth be told, I secretly wanted to be married to Harrison Ford. 
During that time, one of our neighbor’s son, who was witty and cute -- always looked after me and we had fun hanging out with each other. He was always kind and helpful (no matter what idiotic thing I did).

 I still don’t know if it was because I was his sister’s friend or the girl next door. 

And for this reason, my heart went out to him. I didn’t realize it until the day a group of us were in his room watching a movie. (And I do recall it was one of the Indiana Jones Movies). I don’t know if he would ever remember, but he tried to kiss me. Shy and geeky I didn’t know what to do expect laugh and I either thought it or asked, “What you were trying to do?”  

 What he didn’t know was that at that time I never been kissed and I had butterflies swimming all around me. I was scared. Scared of what would happen if we did kiss. So I called this moment my almost kiss.

Years later, I write stories of young love and the first amazing kiss. A kiss that many girls will never forget. I laugh because I couldn’t remember my first kiss expect that it was horrible, but I remember the boy who I gave my heart to not realizing it.

As I said in my dedication, he’s the boy next door who will always have a special place in my heart.

Ellie Hart lives with her family at Cape Cod, Massachusetts. Her passion for writing came to life when her son was diagnosed with Autism. Her first Novel The Descendant brought part of her past to a whole new experience. She’s working on her second Novel The Call of the Siren.

Review:

The Romeo Club by Rebekah Purdy is a really cute and easy read, full of endearing friendships, humor and romance.

The premise of The Romeo Club is really quite simple; pretty, popular sixteen year old Delyla Denson has it all; awesome friends, hot-as boyfriend and is quite happy with her life....until she gives her geeky older brother a makeover to help him catch the girl of his dreams and then quickly gets roped into making over his friends as well. Welcome to "The Romeo Club" where Delyla teaches the guys how to act, talk, and be cool around girls. What entails is a lot of fun, laughs and disaster as this teen girl who harbors a secret "nerdy" side finds herself falling for her brothers best friend Trey, a guy who is also currently using his new found self to win over the beautiful girl of his dreams.

The idea may be simple, but there's no denying The Romeo Club is extremely catchy! The writing is basic but fitting and as a closet nerd, Delyla is a real nice heroine to read about; easy to like and follow. I may not have always appreciated her methods--hello sabotage--but I certainly appreciated Delyla's desire to admit her feelings and then fight for the guy she loves. I like the idea that the popular girl fell for the geek.

The guys in this book are just so sweet and geeky that you can't help but love them--from Delyla's sweet older brother Drake to nerds Kevin, C.C and of course Trey; all will make you smile with their "geekiness" and just want to give them a hug. The romance between Delyla and Trey is lovely and sweet, and I did feel their chemistry with their friendship a solid foundation that Purdy perfectly builds on.

Overall The Romeo Club is just a good wholesome read. The book isn't necessary long and once you start you be hard pressed to stop before you reach the end; quickly racing through this really fun and cute tale.
