Review: 

Fallen Princess is the 7th story in the Wind Dragon’s MC series by Chantal Fernando and follows Clover Black, the daughter of fan favourites Dex and Faye whose romance in the first novel kick-started this amazing series!

As the daughter of the former President of the Wind Dragon’s Motorcycle Club, Clover Black’s upbringing has been far from conventional. Though she knows the reputation surrounding the club, Clover has never known anything but love and family values from her large and boisterous family. They do expect a certain future for her which is why Clover has to keep her chosen profession and her dream from them……they’d never accept her being a cop. Yet that is what she has become and even though her first few months on the job haven’t been what she expected, Clover is determined to use her position to help people. If only her sarcastic attitude didn’t keep getting her into trouble. Enter Felix Banks, an up and coming young police officer, and Clover’s new partner. As Felix teaches her what it means to be a cop, Clover finds herself falling for him, but when her secrets come out, will Clover be forced to choose between the job, and man, she loves and the family she adores?

Fallen Princess is the novel long time readers have been eagerly awaiting as Chantal Fernando finally allows fans to delve into the heart and mind of Wind Dragons MC prodigal daughter Clover. We’ve known her as a baby and young girl, the apple of her parents (and all the other MC members) eye and now Clover is finally front and centre as she finds love herself.

It was really nice to have the opportunity to finally follow Clover. She’s a down to earth and well-rounded young woman who has been brought up to be able to look after and protect herself. She’s smart, savvy and sarcastic but also very sweet. I love that Clover is more than able to take care of herself and that she has taken a chance to pursue her dreams….even if they aren’t what people would have expected of her. It was ironic that the child of a biker became a cop.

The romance in Fallen Princess was wonderful too. I think Felix and Clover had lovely chemistry and I thought it was wonderful that Felix not only accepted who Clover was and where she’d come from, but that he made an effort to become a part of her life in connection to the MC. A cop walks into a bikers clubhouse…sounds like the start of a bad joke, but it was very entertaining to read about.

And in saying that, Chantal Fernando will please fans as she includes so many of all the brilliant characters from the earlier books in Fallen Princess. The older generation are still very much alive and kicking—and taking names too. Faye, Dex, Lana, Anna, Rake, Arrow, Trucker, Vinnie, Bailey, and others all appeared and brought so much fun and laughter to the novel with their antics.

A great read in what has always been such a solid and brilliant biker series, Fallen Princess proves once again why Chantal Fernando is one of the Queens of MC novels—in my eyes at least! Can’t wait to read whatever she releases next as she never fails to satify and thrill me!

Review: 

Strength is the fourth novel in Jaymin Eve and Jane Washington's Curse of the Gods series and is another fast paced, enjoyable installment with romance, action and a shocking ending. 

Willa Knight is now a god....she thinks....maybe. After coming back from the dead, Willa's abilities have been getting stronger and stronger and no one quite knows exactly what she is. Determined to find out, her plans are derailed when Staviti summons the strongest of sols to Champions Peak, a secluded mountain where they are to be trained by the most powerful of Beta gods with the same gift. This means the Abcurses will be expected to attend and where her guys go, Willa goes. Surviving Champions Peak will be a difficult endeavour, but with Staviti's intentions in question, Willa will need all her tenacity to stay ahead of the Creator if she hopes to find out what he wants, before she winds up dead......

Quick reading with entertaining storylines and likeable characters, the Curse of the Gods is a highly addictive series. As book number four, Strength sees our beloved characters travel to a secluded mountain to participate in a competition ordered by Staviti. I enjoyed the change of scenery in this installment and seeing Willa and her guys investigate Staviti's heritage in Strength.

I also highly enjoyed seeing Cyrus feature in this novel so strongly as well as his undeniable chemistry with Emmy. It's so entertaining to see how Emmy riles him up and gets under his skin. Something that goes both ways. Emmy and Atti were sweet but the fire she has with Cyrus is so much more and I'm dying to read the next installment in the series, a novella featuring the two of them.

Strength features a throughly shocking ending and offers readers a glimpse into who Willa might possibly be. I have my own thoughts and inklings as to her heritage and I'm looking forward to seeing Jaymin Eve and Jane Washington reveal all soon.

Thoughts:
I absolutely LOVE Arthurian legends and Camelot is one of the best ones to explore. The concept of The Guinevere Deception is just brilliant and I'm so excited for this to come out---it sounds so very amazing. I grew up reading and watching tales of the Knights of the Round Table, King Arthur and Merlin and I can't wait for this to be released so I can discover Kiersten White's version.

Book Shelf: Winter Halo (Outcast #2) by Keri Arthur

Review:

White Halo is the second novel in Keri Arthur’s Outcast trilogy and is an enjoyable sequel that is as eventful and exciting as its predecessor, once more drawing readers into a world of danger and darkness.

Since the war between the humans and shifters that tore a hole between the worlds and allowed the Other’s in, Tiger has tried to live her life in peace alongside the ghosts of the children murdered when their déchet bunker was gassed. Yet ever since she discovered children were being kidnapped and experimented on, Tiger has found herself increasingly involved in efforts to rescue them as her conscience just won’t let her walk away. Even if that means working alongside a mysterious witch named Nuri and shifter and former Ranger Jonas who is a natural enemy to her kind but who makes her feel things she thought she would never feel. When the key to finding the children means Tiger must infiltrate a pharmaceutical company named Winter Halo, she’ll need to use all her gifts in order to discover their secrets, before the children wind up dead….or worse.

Two novels down and I still find myself very invested in Tiger’s story. Winter Halo picks up mostly where the last novel left off and continues to see Tiger search for the missing children. As she continues her own investigations, Keri Arthur weaves Tiger’s story together with intrigue and danger as well as a little romance. The darkly dangerous post-apocalyptic world within the series is still highly intriguing with supernatural creatures and different elements of paranormal and sci-fi woven into its makeup. It genuinely a raw but vivid world to get lost in.

Tiger continues to be a solidly written protagonist. She’s strong and capable and endlessly daring, but I also love that she’s genuinely human in nature. She’s willing to risk herself in order to rescue missing children who are basically strangers to her simply because it is the right thing to do. I feel like the nurturing and caring side of her intermingles well with the kick-ass déchet she is.

In Winter Halo Tiger finds herself attempting to infiltrate a pharmaceutical company in this instalment and in an effort to obtain information, she begins a relationship with a man named Charles. Arthur writes some more sizzling sex scenes in Winter Halo, but it’s Tiger’s relationship with Jonas that has me eagerly turning each page. I think the two will have a really beautiful and lasting romance once finally explored and I loved seeing Keri Arthur take the first steps in this direction as Tiger and Jonas do acknowledge their attraction in this novel for the first time in the series.

Building to a final action packed few chapters, Winter Halo ends on somewhat of a cliffhanger that has me very keen to see what happens next. I have big expectations for the final novel in the trilogy and am hoping it lives up to the first two!
