I had my moments with Bianca, but she grows ...LMAO! I had my moments with Bianca, but she grows on you. Yeah. I think it's possible to read this book without reading the Evernight series. The relationship between Balthazar and Skye develops in this book and the plotline isn't really derived from Evernight. It would certainly make a bit more sense if you'd read the Evernight books first--you'd know his motivation and his history a bit more, but I don't think you'd loose too much. My advice would be to read the Evernight series first, but I'm a fan and I liked them. If you just wanted to read this, I think you could give it a go.

Haha. The same could be said for you missy! You write the most incredible reviews that I always wanna pick the book up right after you've reviewed it!Rachelhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07514580405061834469noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6100229111647446880.post-12915688684873482832012-03-27T11:29:41.688+11:002012-03-27T11:29:41.688+11:00AJDSGJGAD!
OK.
SO.
I... didn't like Evernight....AJDSGJGAD!
OK.
SO.
I... didn't like Evernight... it may have made me want to murder someone (mainly Bianca)... but I... I didn't hate it, or even DISLIKE it, persay... I think I kind of read it wrong time/wrong place? ANYWAY. I was SO intrigued by Balthazar. He's a fabulous character, and I loved him instantly. I kind of really want to read this for him... do you think it'd make sense reading without having read the other books? Or maybe I should just read the other books :P

RACHEL! OK, my "AJDSGJGAD" was because THIS SOUNDS SO GOOD! And I'm conflicted! Aaaaaah!
So.
Regardless of my thoughts on Evernight, FAB review. You have to stop doing this to me...Sarah (saz101)https://www.blogger.com/profile/08936602748682093150noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6100229111647446880.post-54283693929385532232012-03-26T20:41:03.703+11:002012-03-26T20:41:03.703+11:00Lol. I think that's just the romantic in me wanting to see their romance over a longer period of time ;) I doubt Claudia planned to set them up when she began the series but I still would have eaten up seeing them together for longer.

Lmao! No. I loved the Michelle theory. Very Michelle <3

I think it's wonderful too. You need to be able to get lost in an entertaining series and for me that's how it was with Evernight books. I loved them and am sad to see it end. Can't wait for whatever Gray has up her sleeve next!! xoxoRachelhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07514580405061834469noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6100229111647446880.post-37087414143140164382012-03-26T20:35:58.615+11:002012-03-26T20:35:58.615+11:00Haha! The characters are fun and you actually WANT to read about them :) Hope you give them a go one day Brodie.

He is a really intreguing character throughout the series so by the time you get to his book your desperate to know more about him.

<3 xxxRachelhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07514580405061834469noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6100229111647446880.post-59841283103830856832012-03-26T09:41:03.606+11:002012-03-26T09:41:03.606+11:00I do get your point about Skye and Balthy being at...I do get your point about Skye and Balthy being at same school for two years, I had a think about that and she was dating Craig and Balthy was enarmoured with Bianca and basically doing that whole protective , selfless thing in the series , plus Skye new he was a vamp , I think??? so maybe she was sticking with the humans back then..hehe!!

Did you like that Michelle theory? I know sounds dodgy doesn't it?

Great review! It does make me wonder how this series people either love it or go... meh! I think it is an awesome YA series and Claudia brings some wonderful scenes that you visually see played out in your head. I love all her sub characters and her twists. Afterlife was a quieter book considering what Hourglass was like, but I love this series. I am so glad you do too:D

MIchelleNovels On The Runhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16208216983251570539noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6100229111647446880.post-59117501724845217202012-03-26T01:07:55.512+11:002012-03-26T01:07:55.512+11:00Ah! I have yet to read the Evernight series, but you're seriously making me want to dash out and grab all the books just to read Balthazar. I loved Claudia's FATEFUL, so despite reading some mixed reviews for Evernight, I am definitely interested in checking out her vamp series.

Balthazar sounds like such an intriguing character and I'm so happy to hear his story is a good one! Fabulous review!!Brodiehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16389909407256668662noreply@blogger.com
