This week I'm waiting on.....

Hello, I Love You by Katie M. Stout
Releases on: June 9th 2015
Add on Goodreads!

A teen escapes to a boarding school abroad and falls for a Korean pop star in this fun and fresh romantic novel in the vein of Anna and the French Kiss.

Grace Wilde is running—from the multi-million dollar mansion her record producer father bought, the famous older brother who’s topped the country music charts five years in a row, and the mother who blames her for her brother’s breakdown. Grace escapes to the farthest place from home she can think of, a boarding school in Korea, hoping for a fresh start.

She wants nothing to do with music, but when her roommate Sophie’s twin brother Jason turns out to be the newest Korean pop music superstar, Grace is thrust back into the world of fame. She can't stand Jason, whose celebrity status is only outmatched by his oversized ego, but they form a tenuous alliance for the sake of her friendship with Sophie. As the months go by and Grace adjusts to her new life in Korea, even she can't deny the sparks flying between her and the KPOP idol.

Soon, Grace realizes that her feelings for Jason threaten her promise to herself that she'll leave behind the music industry that destroyed her family. But can Grace ignore her attraction to Jason and her undeniable pull of the music she was born to write? Sweet, fun, and romantic, this young adult novel explores what it means to experience first love and discover who you really are in the process.

Thoughts:
Lately I've been reading a few fun contemporary reads and when I saw this I knew I had to put it straight onto my TBR list. I mean a girl falls for a Korean KPOP star? Yes please. Sounds like a real clash of cultures and I'm totally digging that idea. Please, please, please can I read this soon?

What do you think of Hello, I Love You? Does it sounds like something you'd read?
And what are YOU waiting on this week?

Review:

Deep Kiss of Winter is the 8th installment in the Immortals After Dark series by Kresley Cole, however it is also a complication that houses Tempt Me Eternally, a novella in Gena Showalter's superb Alien Huntress series that features Macy and Brennan's story alongside Untouchable, Cole's story of Murdoch Wroth and the Valkyrie Daniela.

It's actually quite funny. I purchased Deep Kiss of Winter years ago when I was reading Showalter's Alien Huntress series; a series I might add I'm yet to post reviews of. I didn't bother reading the main story Untouchable at the time as I hadn't read any of the Immortals After Dark books and hadn't even considered them.

So in saying this, I was really excited when I got to up to Murdoch and Daniela's story and realized I already had their book sitting on my shelf. Cole's focal story of Untouchable takes place over a number of months and over the course of all the previous books in the series. Cole has often hinted that there was something going on between Daniela and Murdoch that we weren't seeing and it's in Deep Kiss of Winter that we finally get to discover exactly what that is and what they've been through.

I quite liked both Murdoch and Daniela and found them both to be strong characters in their own rights. What can I say? When it comes to the Wroth brothers in this series I'm a fan, and Murdoch is no exception. Daniela was a really sweet female lead too. I have to admit though; I wasn't expecting her to be so lonely and craving touch and affection so much. She really was starved for it.

I think Cole did an awesome job with the romantic relationship in this book. Daniela and Murdoch faced some real trials in their journey to be together, the biggest issue being that they could never touch due to Daniela's race and heritage. They struggled to hold onto a relationship when they could never actually touch but in the end I think this really enhanced the strength of their love--even though they found being unable to touch hard, simply being apart wasn't an option. And I found this really beautiful and sweet.

It was wonderful seeing all the Wroth's together at the end of this book. They're all paired up now and have found their own happily ever after's but there are still so many characters yet to. I liked the introduction of Jadian in this book and hope we see more of him in the future; potentially with his own story!

All in all, another great read and one that left me yet again looking forward to the rest of the series!

Book Shelf: Whisper the Dead (The Lovegrove Legacy #2) by Alyxandra Harvey

Gretchen is struggling with her newfound gift as a Whisperer; the constant buzzing in her ears from detecting spells is more frustrating than fun, especially when she is spending time with one of the Order of Iron Nail's Keepers, the icy but strikingly handsome Tobias Lawless. But while Gretchen tries to hide the truth and resolve her feelings for him, London fades from beautiful and bustling to deathly silent ...Something evil is once again menacing Mayfair, and Gretchen and her cousins must use their powers to prevent a horrible sacrifice.

This second book in the Lovegrove Legacy trilogy is full of dark twists, spellbinding suspense and sweeping romance - perfect for fans of Cassandra Clare, Lauren Kate and Ruth Warburton.

Review:

Whisper the Dead is the second book in Alyxandra Harvey's phenomenal Lovegrove Legacy series and is a wonderful follow up to the first book; rich in tantalizing magic, romance and riveting danger. Blending together historical elements with love and friendship, this series just keeps getting better and better with the turn of every page!

After finding myself blown away by the first book in this series, I was once more swept up into high society and magic in Whisper the Dead; which is as good as, if not better, than it's predecessor. Continuing to follow cousins Emma, Gretchen and Penelope, Whisper the Dead is told through the varying POV's of the three main characters, as well as a few others whose roles within the story are important to the developing storyline.

Unlike A Breath of Frost where Emma's voice was most prominent, Whisper the Dead see's Gretchen's the most focal character, with this sassy, daring and fighting girl front and center in this installment. Of the cousins, Gretchen is the one who chaffs the most at the confines her sex and status bring in her society. Not one to enjoy the glitz and glamour of balls and parties, Gretchen is a debutante not looking to catch a husband despite her mothers ire, and would rather fight and do magic than sew and look pretty.

Gretchen is one sassy lady and boy does she have courage and bravery in spades. I mean, how can you not love Gretchen? She's argumentative and rash, and she does things and says things no well bred lady of her time should do or say, but boy does she make for a great character to follow! Gretchen wants to take action and doesn't want to rely on the Order to protect her--she's more than willing to play her part and take things on herself.

In Whisper the Dead Gretchen is still learning to use her abilities as a Whisperer and witch having just learnt the truth about her heritage in A Breath of Frost. As she and her cousins move on from the events of the last book, Gretchen finds her patience tested by Tobias Lawless, a duty bound Keeper whose calm and proper manner, mingled with his desire to follow rules and icy nature manage to infuriate and irk her at every turn. And yet there's something lurking beneath Tobias's cold exterior, something Gretchen is determined to uncover.

Honestly, Gretchen and Tobias are so very entertaining to behold. He's calm and collected, determined to cage and control the animal within him, whilst Gretchen is rash and rebellious, something that is completely at odds with Tobias's proper manner. And yet, as the two bicker and disagree there's a wonderful spark between them that slowly builds into a full blown fire. Stolen kisses and honest discussions make for a very powerful romance that simmers within the story and compliments the action and magic beautifully.

Alyxandra Harvey continues to win me over with the fantastic characters in this series and the developing storyline. Old enemies return and new ones appear as Emma, Gretchen and Penelope continue to embrace the witching world. Harvey explores the romance between Gretchen and Tobias, while also allowing readers to continue to follow Emma and Cormac. Other characters are beginning to play intriguing roles within the story including Moira, Godric and of course Penelope who I'm hoping will be paired with Cedric.

Racing towards an incredibly climactic ending, Whisper the Dead blends all the brilliance of Alyxandra Harvey's steady writing with scandalous high society and thrilling action. With the final chapter of the book already having me begging for more, I for one cannot wait for the next book in the series when I can dive into the lives of these brilliant characters once more!

Waiting on Wednesday is a weekly event hosted by Breaking The Spine where you can spotlight an upcoming release that you're eagerly anticipating.

This week I'm waiting on.....

Rook by Sharon Cameron
Releases on: April 28th 2015

Who needs a wedding ring when you can pick up a sword? A remarkable and utterly inventive novel from Sharon Cameron, author of THE DARK UNWINDING, which USA TODAY called "spellbindingly imaginative."

History has a way of repeating itself. In the Sunken City that was once Paris, all who oppose the new revolution are being put to the blade. Except for those who disappear from their prison cells, a red-tipped rook feather left in their place. Is the mysterious Red Rook a savior of the innocent or a criminal?

Meanwhile, across the sea in the Commonwealth, Sophia Bellamy's arranged marriage to the wealthy René Hasard is the last chance to save her family from ruin. But when the search for the Red Rook comes straight to her doorstep, Sophia discovers that her fiancé is not all he seems. Which is only fair, because neither is she.

As the Red Rook grows bolder and the stakes grow higher, Sophia and René find themselves locked in a tantalizing game of cat and mouse.

Daring intrigue, delicious romance, and spine-tingling suspense fill the pages of this extraordinary tale from award-winning author Sharon Cameron.

Thoughts:
Quite a few people are excited about this book and I'm no exception! Honestly the whole concerpt seems intriguing and I'm definitely hoping to read it in the future!

Review:

Be With Me by Jennifer L. Armentrout, writing as J. Lynn, is the deliciously written and addictively told second full installment in Armentrout’s Wait For You series and this time follows characters Teresa and Jase as they finally give in to the passion and connection that simmers between them in this sensual read that is sure to thrill!

Having been previously introduced to Teresa Hamilton in the first book of this series, Cam’s little sister is now front and center as the protagonist and leading lady in Be With Me. It’s in this book that Tess finally finds herself acting on the years long crush she’s had on her brothers best friend Jase Winstead, a beguiling man who happens to harbor life-changing secrets.

Be With Me was an intensely addictive read. Armentrout details the story perfectly; her writing is precise, but telling and the story was over flowing with sexual tension and chemistry. Plenty of revelations kept me on my toes and the events the accompany Tess and Jase's romance made for quite the interesting read!

I was delighted to follow Tess in this book. After getting to meet her briefly in Wait For You and Trust in Me, there was no doubt that Tess had her own tale to tell and the hints and possibilities Armentrout set up with Jase in those two stories promised a sensual story featuring the two of them. Tess really goes through a lot in Be With Me; seeing her dreams end and having her heart constantly messed with, but she handles herself quite well. It really was impossible not to like her; she was just a good, honest character and made it easy to follow the story.

Jase on the other hand, proved to a real difficulty at times, both for Tess and me as the reader. Don't get me wrong, I love this guy, but boy does he know how to put someone through the wringer. Jase has been through a lot, and continues to go through a lot as we quickly come to understand the difficult situation he is in. Not to give away any spoilers, but Jase doesn't love easily, and who can blame him with the history he has. That being said, sometimes I just wanted to shake him and demand to know what the hell he was doing!

Oh, I completely understand why he acted as he did at times, but that didn't make it any less frustrating to see. Here's a guy worthy of love and yet who keeps sabotaging his own happiness because of fear. Jennifer L. Armentrout certainly knows how to make the reader sweat and that becomes so incredibly evident with the beguiling but at times frustrating character that is Jase Winstead.

Despite their own baggage, Tess and Jase really are perfect together. She's his best friends little sister and there's that forbidden aspect that always shines through, but the chemistry that Armentrout wrote into their relationship is addictive all on it's own. These two sizzle up the pages and the slow build as their relationship builds and becomes more and more physical is perfect!

Now having read Tess and Jase's story, I'm already ready for the next book. At this point in time I have a list of characters whose stories I'm ready to read including Brit and Ollie, Calla and maybe Brendan. Even Steph is someone who I'm sure has her own story to tell!

Sensual, addictive and hot as hell, Be With Me is an amazing NA read. Fans of Abbi Glines won't want to miss this series as Jennifer L. Armentrout continues to dish out romantic, beguiling stories that will thrill from the very beginning!

Review:

Stolen Moon is the follow up companion novel to Kimber Leigh Wheaton’s amazing debut Shadow Fire and once again draws readers into a magical land of danger and romance as we meet another kick-ass heroine on a new perilous journey!

I really loved Kimber Leigh Wheaton’s debut Shadow Fire and was thrilled to discover Stolen Moon to be a great follow up. I didn’t love it quite as much as the first book, but it got really close. Well written and exciting, Stolen Moon featured a capable heroine, friendship and tones of romancejust how I like my novels!

Told through the eyes of Katarina, a Royal Knight who has just fled from the clutches of an evil sorcerer named Zebulon, Stolen Moon sees Katarina travel vast lands and dangerous domains with a bunch of mercenaries in order to return a medallion she had taken from the sorcerer in her escape to its rightful resting place. Meeting new people and making new friends, Katarina discovers unexpected secrets about herself and what she is capable of; falling in love along the way as she heads towards a final battle with Zebulon that will finally set her people free.

As the main character, Katarina was great to follow. She was intelligent and capable; able to hold her own in a world dominated by male fighters. Admittedly she was a bit too emotional at times, but considering the losses she experienced and how much she was going through, I’ll forgive her the frequent crying.

Katarina finds romance and love in the arms of Ethan, the cheeky mercenary who steals her heart in Stolen Moon. Fans of the first book may remember Ethan from Shadow Fire when then heroine Ashlyn and her comrades rescued him from the clutches of different evil sorcerer. In Stolen Moon, which is set four years after Shadow Fire, Ethan is a lot older and very much the alluring and sensual stranger who captures Katarina’s attention before her heart.

Katarina and Ethan are very sweet together and Wheaton does not disappoint with a lot of romance in Stolen Moon. Their relationship moves quickly but readers will still believe their attraction and romance as the chemistry between them is prominent and leads a lot to connecting them quickly.

I very much enjoyed the other characters in the story too. It was lovely to see Ashlyn, Zane and Tamaris reappear, if only for a brief moment and I enjoyed seeing Loki, Ethan and Caleb feature in the story. Wheaton introduces readers to a great team of mercenaries including, Vale, Bronwyn and Forde who had flavor to the story and features Caleb too, someone who was rescued with Ethan in the last book, but whom we barely got to meet. I found Caleb to be a real sweetie as a powerful mage who is a part of Ethan’s group, and considering his history and abilities, I would personally love to see a story feature him in the future too if possible.

Filled with romance, danger and adventure, Stolen Moon was a fun fantasy tale that will easy entertain and satisfy! I can only hope Kimber Leigh Wheaton decides to write a third novel!

Book Blitz: Spark Rising by Kate Corcino- Excerpt & Giveaway

Today on The Rest Is Still Unwritten I'm taking part in the Book Blitz for Spark Rising by Kate Corcino thanks to Xpresso Book Tours. Below you'll find an excerpt from this promising Post-Apocalyptic/Science Fiction novel as well as your chance to win an ecopy of Spark Rising that I have to give away!
___________________________________

All that’s required to ignite a revolution is a single spark rising.

Two hundred years after the cataclysm that annihilated fossil fuels, Sparks keep electricity flowing through their control of energy-giving Dust. The Council of Nine rebuilt civilization on the backs of Sparks, offering citizens a comfortable life in a relo-city in exchange for power, particularly over the children able to fuel the future. The strongest of the boys are taken as Wards and raised to become elite agents, the Council’s enforcers and spies. Strong girls—those who could advance the rapidly-evolving matrilineal power—don’t exist. Not according to the Council.

Lena Gracey died as a child, mourned publicly by parents desperate to keep her from the Council. She was raised in hiding until she fled the relo-city for solitary freedom in the desert. Lena lives off the grid, selling her power on the black market.

Agent Alex Reyes was honed into a calculating weapon at the Ward School to do the Council’s dirty work. But Alex lives a double life. He’s leading the next generation of agents in a secret revolution to destroy those in power from within.

The life Lena built to escape her past ends the day Alex arrives looking for a renegade Spark.

From Spark Rising....

NOTE: In this scene from Spark Rising, written from Alex’s point of view, Lena and Alex are finally building an uneasy friendship to go with their alliance. She still thinks he is pushy and unethical, willing to do anything for his cause. He still finds her maddening and unpredictable, and wishes she’d devote herself and her abilities to their cause. They’re both distracted by the chemistry neither will admit. Still, she’s giving him the lessons he needs to turn his own Spark ability into a weapon. If only he could master them…

She rose and stood with her arms crossed, waiting.

He focused, grateful for the shift in mood. Instead of trying to affect the Dust inside the body, as she did in her attacks, he’d try for the Dust attracted to the outside of her. Perhaps the Dust living inside was simply too protective of their very strong host? He breathed out and reached with his mind.

Nothing happened, exactly like all the times before.

"Um." She wrinkled her brow. "Did you start yet?"

Alex groaned in frustration. He dropped his gaze to the ground at her feet, not wanting to see her expression after the latest failure. Push, dammit!

A flash of light and heat arced out in jagged white light from the ground. It threw Lena off her feet, over the bench and to the ground.

He stared, slack-jawed for a bare second. In two long steps he crossed the clearing and hopped onto the bench looking down at her.

She wheezed in an attempt to reclaim her breath.

He jumped down to her side, hands moving over her head and neck, and then down her sides, to be sure she was otherwise okay. She projected such a huge persona he was shocked at how fragile she felt under his hands.

She batted at him weakly.

Once he’d reassured himself she wasn’t broken, he wrapped his hands around each of her thighs and pulled up her legs to inspect her feet.

The indignity of it helped her find her voice. "Get off of me!"

"Lay still! I could have hurt you!" He barked the words, guilt and dismay making his voice harsh.

"I’m fine."

She wasn’t. Her voice came as a weak thread of air. She sounded breathless, small. She pushed his hands away, and then pushed at him as she sat up. He crouched at her side, refusing to give way. His heart still pounded.

With a faint grunt of disgust, she scooted herself back from him. She brushed the worst of the gravel and dirt from her hair with her fingertips. When she finally looked up at him, she seemed to freeze for a moment at whatever she saw in his face. "Reyes. Alex. I’m fine."

He propped one elbow on his knee in front of him and rubbed his mouth with the back of his hand. His eyes closed then opened on a gust of air. "Dust, Lena. I could have hurt you."

"Yeah." She agreed. "You could have." Her voice changed, and he could hear the sly grin under her words. "You really could have."

The mischief on her face was contagious.

"I did it."

"You did something." She wiggled a bit and then made a move to rise.

He jumped to his feet to help. His pull and her slight weight made her sail up into his side. He wrapped his arm around her to steady her.

She grinned up at him, mouth opened to make another wise-ass remark, no doubt.

He focused on her mouth just a beat too long.

She closed it, biting her lower lip. That wasn’t a great help.

She stared back up at him, her eyes wide and her body very still. Before Alex had a chance

to process the movement or talk himself down, his body shifted, turning to fully face her. He slid his other hand up to cup the back of her head, lifting her face as he lowered his.

Just a taste. One taste. I have to know.

Book Shelf: Rusty Nailed (Cocktail #2) by Alice Clayton

In this sequel to Wallbanger, the second book in the Cocktail series, fan favorites Caroline and Simon negotiate the rollercoaster of their new relationship while house-sitting in San Francisco.

Playing house was never so much fun—or so confusing. With her boss on her honeymoon, Caroline’s working crazy long hours to keep the interior design company running—especially since she’s also the lead designer for the renovation of a gorgeous old hotel on Sausalito. So with her hotshot photographer boyfriend gallivanting all over the world for his job, she and Simon are heavy-duty into “absence makes the heart grow fonder” mode. Neither has any complaints about the great reunion sex, though! Then Simon decides he’s tired of so much travelling, and he’s suddenly home more. A lot more. And wanting Caroline home more, too. Though their friends’ romantic lives provide plenty of welcome distraction, eventually Caroline and Simon have to sort their relationship out. Neither wants “out of sight, out of mind,” but can they create their own happy mid-ground cliché?

USA TODAY bestselling author Alice Clayton delivers another delicious, frothy cocktail of a book, shaking up her characters, stirring in laugh-out-loud humor, and serving sizzling romance straight up!

Review:

Rusty Nailed is the electric follow up to Alice Clayton’s sensational rom-com Wallbanger, and is as easily as good as the first novel; drawing her readers back into the lives of Caroline, Simon and well….Clive. Rich in romance, sexual chemistry and laugh-out-loud moments, Rusty Nailed is a superb sequel that you just won’t want to miss!

After the amazing story that was Wallbanger, Alice Clayton certainly managed to captivate this reader’s attention once more; from the opening chapter of Rusty Nailed I was once more hooked! Caroline and Simon are as steamy, charismatic and adorable as ever and I certainly couldn’t get enough of them and their hilarious lives as the events of Rusty Nailed unfolded.

Now having been together for more than a year, Caroline and Simon are as strong, and as sexy, as ever, but a bunch of changesincluding Jillian’s prolonged departure on her honeymoon, Simon’s extended time home and a duo of friends whose break-up are cause for a lot of awkward, albeit hilarious moments—to their lives see Caroline and Simon take big steps in their relationship. They’ll struggle, snuggle and prove just how amazing and perfect they are together in this new stage of their story…….

Honestly, Simon and Caroline are just so perfect for each other. Not only do I adore them as individuals, but Rusty Nailed only showcased how excellently they complement and strengthen each other. Caroline is a strong and independent woman and that hasn’t changed now that she is with Simon, and Simon is still his cheeky and smooth self, although a monogamous relationship with Caroline has actually seen him happier than he has been in many years.

Simon and Caroline have an incredible chemistry and ease with each other. They just fit so well. They understand and accept the other for exactly who they are and although they have the expected fights and issues you expect with all relationships, they manage to grow and flourish along the waysomething both helped and hindered by their best friends Mimi and Ryan and Neil and Sophia, as well as their mentors/friends Jillian and Benjamin who finally tie the knot!

Clive is also back and slowly bonding with Simon in Rusty Nailed, something that certainly brought a smile to my face. The continued balance that is exhibited by Clayton through her delicious writing, cheeky moments, sensual romance and sex scenes between her characters make for some terrific reading. The friendships are as wonderful as ever between Caroline and her girls, and Simon and his boys and personally I can’t get enough of them all!

Sensual, sexy and just down right fun, Rusty Nailed is an incredible follow up to its predecessor that hits every nail on the head and then some!

Book Blitz: Storm Fall by Tracy Banghart- Playlist & Giveaway

I'm beyond thrilled to be taking part in the Book Blitz for Storm Fall by Tracy Banghart thanks to Xpresso Book Tours! The first book in this series, Rebel Wing was one of my favourite books of this year, read by me when it was formally known as Shattered Veil and I'm so excited to read the second book!
____________________________________

In the action-packed sequel to Rebel Wing, Aris battles for life and love . . . and not everyone will survive.

Aris Haan gave up everything to join the Atalantan Military: her family, her boyfriend, even her identity. In the end, though, it didn’t matter that she was a war hero. When the all-male Military discovered that she was actually a woman, she was sent home and erased from history.

Now she has a chance to go back to the battlefield—as herself. But as hard as it was to be a soldier in disguise, it’s even more difficult now. The men in her unit undermine her at every turn. The Safaran army has spies everywhere, perhaps even on Aris’s stationpoint. And she’s falling for her mysterious superior officer, Milek. But their relationship is forbidden, just stolen moments between training sessions and missions. There’s no room for love in war.

Then Aris discovers that Safara’s leaders have set their sights on her, Atalanta’s hero. And she must find them before they find her . .

STORM FALL PLAYLIST
by Tracy Banghart

Normally, I use the same approach to music with every book I write. I begin the process with a long playlist that includes whole albums, and as I’m writing, the songs that stick out and resonate with me get copied into another, shorter playlist, which I then listen to over and over again as I revise.

With STORM FALL, I wrote the manuscript very quickly, so I skipped right to the shorter playlist. The songs on this list aren’t all thematically connected to the book, though some are (the songs from Mulan definitely connect with the themes of the Rebel Wing series). A lot of times, music clicks for me based on its general vibe, rather than lyrics.

Here’s the list of the songs I listened to the most while writing STORM FALL, with a little breakdown on what appealed to me about each one. I hope you enjoy!

1. Breath of Life – Florence + The Machine
I write to Florence a LOT. Her music makes it onto almost every writing playlist I have because it’s so dramatic. It really gets the creative juices flowing! Breath of Life began every STORM FALL writing session because it was ominous, cinematic, and driving. Perhaps that gives a hint to the type of story STORM FALL is?

“To get a dream of life again / A little vision of the sun in the end”

2. I’ll Make a Man Out of You – Mulan Soundtrack
The Rebel Wing series is about a girl who infiltrates her country’s all-male military, so this song fits pretty much perfectly. Also, it’s super fun to sing along to. It pumps me up!

“Did they send me daughters when I asked for sons?
You're the saddest bunch I ever met
But you can bet before we're through
Mister, I'll make a man out of you”

3. Radioactive – Imagine Dragons
This song resonated with a lot of the early, ominous scenes.

“I raise my flags, don my clothes / It's a revolution, I suppose”

4. Devil’s Backbone – The Civil Wars
The eerie, gritty vibe of this song worked well with the darker sections of STORM FALL, though the lyrics don’t really fit with what happens in the story.

“Give me the burden, give me the blame / I’ll shoulder the load, and I’ll swallow the shame”

5. Best of You – Anastacia
This is from Anastacia’s “It’s A Man’s World” album, where she covers iconic songs by male singers. It’s a badass album, and this song works for all the badass women kicking butt in STORM FALL.

“My head is giving me life or death
But I can't choose
I swear I'll never give in
I refuse”

6. Demons – Imagine Dragons
This song makes me think of Dysis and her relationship with Lieutenant Daakon. They both have a lot of demons.

“Your eyes, they shine so bright
I wanna save that light
I can't escape this now
Unless you show me how”

7. From This Valley – The Civil Wars
This song calls to mind scenes later in the book. That’s all I’ll say. ;-)

“Oh won't you take me from this valley
To that mountain high above
Oh I will pray, pray, pray till I see your smiling face”

8. Use Somebody – Anastacia
Another one that fits the girls-kicking-butt vibe.

“Off in the night, while you live it up, I'm off to sleep / Waging wars to shape the poet and the beat”

9. Wrecking Ball – Miley Cyrus
This is Dysis’s jam. Sadly.

“I never hit so hard in love
All I wanted was to break your walls
All you ever did was wreck me”

10. Reflection  - Mulan Soundtrack
So much of the entire series comes down to identity. How does Aris fit within her world – how do women in general fit within her world?

“Must there be a secret me
I'm forced to hide?

Must I pretend that I am someone else for all time?
When will my reflection show, who I am inside?”

Take a listen to the soundtrack below! I hope you enjoy!
